Sometimes it’s hard to figure out where to start. Especially, when you’ve been gone for a while.
Sometimes, it isn’t, and this is one of those times. So, before I go any farther, I would really like to thank everyone who realized the blog has been dark for an inordinately long period of time and reached out to see if everything was OK.
Of course, it wasn’t!
In and out of the hospital three times for twenty days out of the past thirty-nine days does not constitute OK! But that’s what it took to get back on track. At least, with regard to my physical health. That could not have happened without one of the finest medical centers in the country, some of the best doctors on the planet, and a literal army of some of the very best nurses and clinical partners in the universe!
They fixed me.
They reduced the inflammation around my heart and lungs. Removed more than a liter of fluid from my pericardium. And, came up with a treatment plan and a diagnosis, even if it was through a process of diagnosis by default.
It was not a perfect answer. Nor, the answer I wanted. But it is enough to move forward and that’s all I need. That, along with your care and concern, because that’s what it took to get us through this!
Now, all I have to do is start writing again, which appears to have become a lot more difficult as I try to manage an ever-growing number of follow-up visits, doctor’s appointments, and additional testing.
There is one more thing to be thankful for and that’s the gift of good health. If you have it, don’t take it for granted. Cherish it!
